the power to unsettle

Why does this article still have the power to unsettle?

I gave up that dream a long time ago. I knew and know it wasn't the right one for me. I should be happy for others' success.

But it's still hard...it was once my dream.

[It may also be the competitor in me...]

  1. I also get angry about bad newspaper writing and when people mischaracterize the art world. Speaking of, the review of the Rivane Neuenschwander show at the New Museum was so terribly written. The work does sound potentially cloying (though emotional in a way I miss art being), but the insights into it were even worse. Ew.

  2. you should be one of these people. except that, you also hate these people. you lovehate them. hatelove.

nothing is perfect. ever. and just like in relationships (or as one man said to one woman in one movie): "you're all crazy. you just gotta find the crazy you can stand." it's kinda like that with careers. you know? maybe.

  3. and ps - the competitor in you is a good thing. always feed that tiny voice inside. even if it's just fleeting thoughts, or blog posts. how else can we look to challenge ourselves, after all?
